A: Yes I like to think so. Becoming a member will allow you to engage in discussion with like minded gamers. You will be able to post your own topics, news, and information. Members are eligible to participate in contests that will award bragging rights, special recognition, and some prizes.

Q: Do I need to be a member to view the A-Gamer.com?
A: No. You do need to be a registered user to leave comments and make new posts.

Q: How do I become a registered user?
A: Scroll to the bottom of the page, below the archives in the meta section and click the link “Register” or Click Here. 

Q: Is registering with wordpress different from “becoming a member”?
A: Yes. If you register with wordpress you are registering on wordpress.com. This site is privately hosted and powered with tools from wordpress.org

Q: Why is there an entry fee for Challenges?
The entry fee covers the cost for the prize(s) awarded to the winner(s) of each particular challenge.

Q: What is A-Gamer Gear?
A: A-Gamer gear is a way to show your support, and help keep the site running and keep contest gifts coming. A basic lineup of merchandise has been set up with the A-Gamer logo, items have a 10% markup. All proceeds get reinvested back into A-Gamer primarily the $60 annually to host the site, any and all profit beyond will be used to purchase items like annual Xbox Live Gold Memberships, and Microsoft Point cards to be won in challenges, events, and drawings. The more involved the group is, the better it is all around.

Q: How do I create a new post?
A: Once you are logged in, go to your dashboard. If you are viewing the home page of the site scroll down the Meta section in the right hand menu bar, and click “Site Admin”. You are now at your dashboard, for a quick post that with be categorized as general info you can use the “QuickPress” section located on your dashboard.

If you want to add a post in a different catagory, or edit a post you will need to use the drop down menu from your dashboard. Located in the menus on the far left of your dashboard.

Q: How do I load a picture/thumbnail so my post has a graphic on the main page?
A: 

1. Start by making your new post.

2. Click the first icon (Add an image) after the text “Upload/Insert”.

3. Add the media file from your computer. Image size should atleast be 640×250

4. Scroll down…next to the box that reads “Insert into post” is a link “Use as thumbnail” click the Use as thumbnail link.

5. It will automatically save, click “Save all changes” and your done.

It is a simple as that. I think this will make things interesting, lets just keep it tasteful.

Q: How do I add an event to the calendar?
A: Login, from your dashboard on the left hand menu click on the link that says Calendar. Then Manage Calendar, then add event. It is that simple.
