Q: Do I have to pay to become a member?

A: No – membership is free, however PayPal donations to keep the site up and running each year are welcomed.

Q: How do I make a post / new topic of discussion?

A: Please visit the section: Making Posts & Leaving Comments

Q: I made a post but it is not appearing in the spotlight section?

A: When making a post you need to do two things to ensure your picture appears in the spotlight:

1. type the word spotlight in the Post Tag section on the left hand side of the screen. Press add when you are done.

2. Set the featured image. Upload a feature image. Images with a width of 450px and height of up to 600 work best.

Q: How do I get a picture next to my username to appear when leaving comments?

A: If you are a registered member you can access your profile through the dashboard in the “Users” section. Scroll down to “Avatar” and upload your image. It will automatically be re-sized for the perfect fit. (animated .gifs are not supported file types)

Q: I am in the dashboard and cant get back to the site?

A: At the top of the screen click on the (w) A-Gamer text.

Q: What is site XP?

A: Site XP is expiereince points you are rewraded for performing certain actions on a-gamer.com. The breakdown is as follows:

  • 1XP: Author earns for comments on their post.
  • 2 XP: Making a comment.
  • 5XP: Making a post.
  • 10XP: For becoming a registered a-gamer member.

You can find your XP information in the dasboard when you login in or in the footer section of all pages on the site.

Q:What is the point of Site XP?

A: What is the point of Xbox Live achievements? Bragging rights! It also helps monitor who the active members are plus we are looking into intergration of virtual goods. Keep an eye for the redeem XP section for full details.

Q: How is a-gamer funded?

A: A-gamer is funded by it’s members and advertisers. Members can donate using paypal or purchase items where proceeds go to covering the operation cost of a-gamer.com. As you have probably noticed there ads on the site. Ads kept it to a minimum to keep the core look and feel of the site intact. Any time an ad is clicked from a-gamer.com the site earns revenue. If you click on an please make sure it is an ad that interests you with their product or service. Clicking on ads blindly for the purpose of generating revenue is looked down upon and can result in a-gamer.com losing it’s adsense account.

Q: How does A-Gamer use its funds?

A: All proceeds are redistributed back into site operation and maintenance. Montly revenue is used to pay for operational costs and hosting. Any/All remaining funds are used to purchase virtual goods to be exchanged for site XP points and other promotional items.
