I just downloaded LIMBO this morning and played it for quite a while. At it’s core, it’s a puzzle platformer.There are only two actions you can perform: jump and push/pull. Despite this, the puzzles are quite ingenious, and there’s a wide variety of them. The art style is very striking too. The entire game is done in black, white, and shades of grey. It gives the entire game an ominous feeling. Until you run across something that can kill you a first time, you’re never quite sure if something is going to kill you or if it’s just a branch.
The other game I would liken it to is Braid. Mainly because they’re both puzzle platformers with an interesting premise, simple controls, and a pretty small development team. I think everybody should buy it (or at least check it out) so that more unique games will get put on XBLA.

I play video games almost exclusively on the Xbox 360, but I also enjoy retro gaming, PC, iPhone, card, and board games (except Monopoly).
Yeah Limbo looks pretty interesting. I enjoyed Braid quite a bit, and I’ll probably end up downloading Limbo later in the week. I’m glad that you’re liking it because now I’m less reluctant to buy it.
been meaning to download this one. it looks a lot like a music video Little Dragon did about a year or two ago called Twice. it’s very artsy and has the same ominous vibe. i wonder if the Limbo guys took some inspiration from it.
