Pure

Pure is an action sports off-road trick racing game that takes the genre to a new level. With a release date of 2008 I found this game in my library with very little play time on it and gave it try. Even by 2010 standards the graphics are polished on this arcade style ATV racer. Most of my ATV’s handles like poop running down my seven week old daughter’s defective diaper but as I mentioned I am early in the career mode and stand to unlock hundreds of upgraded parts to build new ATV’s from the ground up. Players compete in races, sprints, and trick events.

No tuning required, slap on the new part that upgrades the desired attribute, speed, acceleration, handling, tricks, etc. and away you go. No two ATV’s will look the same since you are able to paint nearly every piece.

The few tracks I have unlocked so far have gorgeous landscapes, mind blowing jumps, and alternate routes that pay off for exploration. Needless to say I will enjoy putting some time into the game. Once I get a ATV or two that is worthy of online play I will give multiplayer a go.

All in all this would not be a bad $20 game. The good news is I see it on eBay for an average price of $10 and it is coupled with Lego Batman…two full games for $10! Not a bad deal.
