Fergusson just Tweeted this news. So, 20XP; WOW!

Unofficially; the dates will be July 22 – 25, but I have not seen any confiormation from Fergusson.

Next Gears of War 2 XP Event Depends on You!

Continuing Gears of War 2′s multiplied XP events, Gears Executive Producer, Rod Fergusson has thrown down the gauntlet to players by stating that the next one to follow Tick, Tick, Boom – which offered 8x XP – will depend entirely upon how many Twitter followers Fergusson can gain before the SDCC XP Event kicks off.

“Ok, here’s my bribe. The SDCC XP event will be # of my followers divided by 500. So 4000 followers means 8x XP”, says Fergusson’s (aka GearsViking) tweet.

So, if the number rises to 5000, you’ll be earning 10x XP during the next Gears event. If that thought sounds at all inviting, jump onto Twitter now and follow GearsViking. The current number of followers stands at 3,954.

   That figures. I’ll be out of town and away from my 360 during that time frame. Maybe I’ll get lucky and be online the 22nd or 23rd.

   The latest news from Fergusson’s Twitter makes it look like 20x XP Horde will be all Bolters, Boomers, and Bloodmounts!

   AND,

   “And not just the Boomshot Boomers but all of them – Butchers, Maulers, Grinders, Flamers, the whole Boomer family ”

   Sounds like another crappy Horde week-end; but I know they will be a few who will give it a try!

   I’m tempted to pick up a used copy to take advantage of the 20xp! Should be a few achievements to pick up from that. I have been watching the footage on Gears 3…looks awesome!

   I’ve been a big fan of Gears from the first submission. Gears 1 is still my hands-down favorite. The addition of Horde in Gears 2 has been one of the best co-op experience to date.

   I tried a little 20x XP over the week-end, but the powers-that-be screwed with Horde, again, and took the enjoyment out of it.

   I certainly encourage all AGMR’s who enjoy co-op to get their hands on Gears 2 and we can join together for 5-player Locust annihilation!

   I will see what I can do. It does look like my online gaming activity may be reduced temporarily but I will remain active on the site.
