About the Author

I am married, live, and work in NE Iowa.
I am the patriach of a blended family of four (now) men (almost said kids) and have the joy of 6.5 grandkids. The newest is scheduled for a September arrival. Life is Grand!
To parrot Ishy, it is amazing to be able to forge great friendships with folks I've never met except thru Live and AGMR's!
I had just ruled out purchasing it, but since it’s free I’ll totally get it.
Good to see they are giving it to us…now that I am done with the main storyline it is good to see more coming.
Love that this will be a free addon. Kudos for RockStar on this one. I will be downloading tomorrow.
what a game company that’s not screwing the customer base? INCONCEIVEABLE!!!
AND,
Ten new achievements added to RDR with the release of the free DLC, Outlaws to the End!
Ya know, this is really amazing from any game company; not only free DLC as noted by other AGMR’s, but true to their word…the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack is LIVE, NOW!
As I am more accustomed to MW DLC,their usually not released until later in the morning, at the earliest, but Rockstar is up-and-at-’em!!
Nice Job, Rockstar!
I just downloaded it. It only took about 30 seconds. See you this week in the dying West.
“…their usually not released…”
My apologies for the grammatical error…’their’ needs to be “they’re”…Sorry, AGMR’s!
I am ashamed!
I will be on tonight for sure.
tried to get on after downloading the dlc and apparently the server can’t run it. I now can only get into private free roam and single player. haven’t checked if it was fixed today or not. it blows when this happens!
Ya, the DLC broke the public areas; I have read the patch was released yesterday afternoon, but when I played the single player for 30 minutes, yesterday, late afternoon, there was nothing that appeared when I loaded the game….
Yea my problem is I can only connect with a few guys….and I am not getting any of the achievements. I start in private room and then head over…do you have to be in public to get the cheevos??
I don’t know, Hitman. Ishy & I will be getting together sometime this week-end and we will check it out; I haven’t tried the co-op, yet.
Vern & I got together early, early this morning (what we like to call Before the Roosters) and went after “The Escape” co-op mission.
RDR did a great job, gaging by one mission. I had to leave for work, so didn’t get the mission complete to see if we wouldl have been awarded with any Cheevo points.
If any of you haven’t tried Outlaws to the End, yet, look out of the the guys with dynamite in Tumbleweed! They can heave those sticks a hundred yards with pin point accuracy!
One of the fun aspects is reviving your downed team-mate using a horse size syringe and needle. Your team-mate will bleed out fast, so you need to stay close enough to be able to help or receive assistance!
All-in-all, Great fun! Nice job, Rockstar!
And, I still can’t believe it was Free; after being gouged by IW for years, how refreshing to see a company say thanks to the folks who purchased their game!
Cougar and I also had a chance to play this morning. Although we did it at a reasonable hour instead of crazy early.
We played through four of the missions and made it through 2 of them without failing. A bunch of them have a similar structure, but they were all fun to play. I think it was a tad more difficult with just the two of us, but we held our own. We picked up a few of the achievements along the way too.
The one thing I noticed that was a little “cheap” is that, right at the end of several of the missions, they throw you in the middle of a bunch of bad guys with no cover. I felt like it took the game from challenging to a little unfair. They also stuck us on a dock during one of these scenarios. Of course I made one of those wide turns, ended up in the water, and drowned immediately. It baffles me that swimming made it into GTA, but they didn’t see fit to put it in RDR.
“…swimming made it into GTA, but they didn’t see fit to put it in RDR.”
Because that manly footware you’re sportin’ fills with water!
I have made it thru the first 2 co-ops a few times and thought they were very cool. Hoping to get a look at 4-6 this week!
Hey, Hitman, were you able to collect three other guys for a full co-op experience?
I didn’t have a chance to try it again over the week-end; but I did co-op Gears 2 with my grandson!
That kid pulled my butt out of the fire a couple of times during Horde!
No not yet…I did get thru 3 of the 6 co-ops with a buddy yesterday but did not find a full set. I want to get thru the 3 we could not do with 2 people and will play all 6 for sure…just shout at me when you see me on and we will try our connection again!!!!
Will do, Hitman;
Ishy and I will be on tonight around 8:30 CST for a bit; it would be a good chance to finally meet…
Ishy and I finally had a chance to join up for a little cooperative action; managed to unlock 5 achievements for 30 XP with the first completed mission.
Ro joined us before he had to head out to work; Ishy tried to get Mandalore in our Posse, but he couldn’t connect.
Finally, I just shut the 360 down because I couldn’t connect with anyone.
Both Ishy and Mandalore sent out game invites, but couldn’t join with either AGMR.
Thanks for the missions; looking forward to more!
I think It’s you and I’s routers. I’ve tried everything to get the NAT type to “open”, but it just won’t happen. It’s stuck on “moderate”. Ishy mentioned yours is the same way. We were going to try to have Ishy or Ro host, but, by that time, you had left. Sorry we all couldn’t get it together.
I swear I’ve played some RDR with you before. Am I wrong?
I hated to take off, but we weren’t having any luck and 4:45 a.m. comes too soon.
Ishy was hosting last night.
I do not think we have had any RDR time, Mandalore; Gears, MW2, & R6V2, but not any RDR that I remember.
If anyone can walk me thru the steps necessary to set my router to an open NAT setting, please post away…Xbox gives a crappy explanation, but it is too vague; I need a better step by step set of instructions.
When Ro hosted I think it may have worked. I fear my internet is just a little too slow to serve as host on RDR.
When I was getting Moderate issues on MW I called my cable co and they opened the NAT up for me and I have not personally had issues. Hope it all works out…I am really torn between too many games right now and its getting crazier by the day. I will look for co-op chances…tried to catch RO the other night.
I’ll have to call my cable provider to see if they can fix the problem for me.
